Stories

It is challenging for us to share the stories of our customers in a personal way that helps you to fully understand the dynamics at play because our lower population makes it more likely that you will know them. We will share anonymous stories as we can, but we are also sharing stories from national sources that can help you better understand the reality of poverty in our country and our state. While many of the stories are sad and challenging, we believe there are solutions to be found when we all work together.
This film covers some of what families are facing with the new challenges of COVID.

Senior receives HELP

Picture
Working with a local contractor, WYO HELP was able to remodel their bathroom to make it accessible. The old tub and surround were removed and a new walk in shower was installed with grab bars.

Now the grandfather is better able to care for himself and the family is better able to support themselves as they have faced increased medical expenses and cost.

We hear that the family is loving the new shower and appreciate that their loved one is better able to manage their care from home. This story is one of many from our new Senior HELP program that focuses on providing support for the many seniors who need help in our communities.
WYO HELP was recently made aware of a family that needed help with their family. This family consists of grandparents caring for their grandchildren. The grandfather was recently diagnosed with a condition that makes moving difficult. Their old bathroom just didn't work for them anymore. The grandfather couldn't take a shower because he couldn't lift his leg high enough to get into the shower/tub combination.
