Senior Work Training
Senior Community Service Employment Program
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is the nation's oldest program to help low-income, unemployed individuals aged 55+ find work.
AARP Foundation first matches eligible older job seekers with local nonprofits (like WYO HELP) and public agencies so they can increase skills and build self-confidence while earning a modest income. Based on their employment interests and goals, participants may also receive supportive services and skills training through an educational institution. Their SCSEP experience most often leads to permanent employment.

WYO HELP is a host agency for the SCSEP program. We are working to make opportunities available at each of our locations. Work experience will involve customer service, answering telephones, computer skills, and a variety of skills related to our efforts to provide resources to people in need. SCSEP participants will be under the direction of one of our staff members who will guide you through the program.
SCSEP are not employees of the host agency. Official rules and requirements are under the direction of AARP. Participants located at WYO HELP locations are subject to the same policies and regulations as WYO HELP staff & volunteers to ensure we meet organizational expectations.
If you are interested in being a participant please contact the regional SCSEP director John Karakalpakis. at 307-475-6198 or [email protected]
