Goshen HELP is a 501(c)3 registered in the State of Wyoming.
Goshen HELP began serving the Goshen County with a Community Services Block Grant October 2018.
October 2020, Goshen HELP began serving 6 Wyoming Counties. Those counties are Carbon, Crook, Goshen, Niobrara, Washakie, and Weston counties.
March 2021, Goshen HELP began using WYO HELP as a DBA to better express the services it was providing in multiple Wyoming Counties.
As a community action agency we desire to engage with the communities we serve to work in partnership to fulfill our mission of helping people to be self-sufficient.
Our primary program is currently a case management program providing assistance to individuals and families in the communities we serve to be self-sufficient. Through this program we can assist with rent, utilities, and other items if it helps our customer to become self-sufficient.
We are currently developing our footprint in many of the counties we serve and are developing the foundations needed to help those communities to address the causes of poverty rather than simply treating the symptoms.
Our primary source of funding is a Community Services Block Grant through a contract with the Wyoming Department of Health. Additional sources of income may be used to help us accomplish our mission.
What can Goshen HELP do for your community?
Although we are new and still developing our systems and our strategic plans, we hope to work with the counties and communities we serve to review and determine how to best serve you.
Goshen HELP is currently conducting focus groups in each county we serve in preparation for 2022 and beyond. We can focus resources either to address community level needs or family level needs. Below is a list of areas allowed by our grants provided we can demonstrate and document that need in our service areas.
In order to allocate CSBG grant funds towards any item we must have a current Community Needs Assessment that indicates a need for that category. We must then include that need in a community action plan for the upcoming grant year and have it included in our contract with the State of Wyoming Health Department.
