Seeking volunteers in Carbon, Crook, Goshen, Niobrara, Washakie, and Weston counties
Type of Skills Desired: Legal, Leadership, Planning
Meeting Times: 3rd Monday at 3pm via Zoom. (Times may change with make up of committee.)
Responsibilities:

(Standard 4) Organizational Leadership (February or March)
  • Confirm mission statement has been reviewed in last 5 years. Confirm programs and services are in alignment with mission statement.
  • Ensure the Community Action Plan is outcome base, anti-poverty and ties to the needs assessment.
  • Community Action Plan and strategic plan document ROMA (Results Oriented Management and Accountability) and agency uses ROMA certified trainer.
  • ​Ensure board receives annual update on success of strategies included in Community Action Plan.
  • Ensure there is a written succession plan in place for the Executive Director. (Coordinate with Personnel Committee.)
  • Ensures that an organization wide risk assessment has been complete and reported to the board.
  • Will coordinate with Programmatic committee on CSBG Grant Application to be approved during April board meeting.
(Standard 5) Vision & Direction (August or September)
  • ​Ensure that board is compliant with Tripartite Requirements.
  • Ensure that board has written procedure for democratic process for low income board members.
  • Ensure that bylaws have been reviewed by an attorney in the last 5 years.
  • Ensure that each board member has received bylaws in the last 2 years.
  • Ensure board meets according to frequency and quorum requirements and fills vacancies as determined in by-laws.
  • Ensures board members receive orientation within 6 months of being seated.
  • Ensures board members have received training on their duties and responsibilities in the past 2 years.
  • Ensures board receives programmatic reports at each board meeting.
  • Will present report at October Board Meeting.
(Standard 6) Vision & Direction (February or March)
  • Ensures there is a strategic plan in place approved by board in last 5 years.
  • Ensures the strategic plan addresses the reduction of poverty, revitalization of low-income communities, and/or empowerment of people with low income to become self-sufficient.
  • Ensures the strategic plan contains Family, Agency, and/or Community goals.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction data and input is collected as part of needs assessment and is included in strategic planning process.
  • Ensures board has received an update on progress of meeting the goals of the strategic plan in last 12 months.
  • Will present report at April Board meeting.
(Standard 9) Operations & Accountability (May or June)
  • Ensure agency has system in place to track and report customer demographics and services customers receive.
  • Ensures agency has system in place to track family, agency, and community outcomes.
  • Ensures board has reviewed an analysis of agency's outcomes or program adjustments in the last 12 months.
  • Ensures annual CSBG Report has been submitted and is accurate. (December)
  • Will present Report during July Board Meeting.
