CSBG - Community Services Block Grant
Eligibility:
- Resident of a county currently being served by WYO HELP through the fund to be used.
- Must demonstrate income for all family members 18 and older as being less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline.
$800 maximum. Total limit may be used once per year and no more than twice in a three-year period. Pet Deposits not covered. Maximum 1 month paid for monthly bills. (Usage of additional funding sources requires Program Director Approval).
Allowable Expenses:
- Rent payment to avoid eviction or as support. Requires W-9 from Landlord to be on file prior to payment.
- Rent deposit to assist with obtaining affordable housing if facing homelessness. Must support self-sufficiency and requires program director approval.
- Utility bill payment to avoid shut off or as support.
- Utility deposit to assist with obtaining affordable housing if facing homelessness. Must support self-sufficiency and requires program director approval.
- Auto repair to support ability to maintain capacity. Must meet self-sufficiency support standards.
- Minor home repair to support providing a safe shelter and ability to maintain capacity.
- GOSHEN HELP Application or intake
- Photo ID – State or Federally issued. (Any exception must be approved by program director and customer must be able to be identified by alternative means.)
- Proof of Income – Last 30 days. Income includes any pay, benefit, or federal assistance programs. If no income exists a written statement must be provided that can be collaborated and documented as likely. Must meet income qualifications of agency funds being used.
- Current lease, bill, or estimate that includes customer name, address, account number (if one exists), and vendor name and address.
- If paying rent,
- Landlord information including W-9
- Tenant Payment form completed by landlord.
Reporting: All customers will be entered into agency management software. All activities regarding customer will be documented and reported to agency board as required.
Special Note: Rent and Utility assistance will be referred if there is an alternative resource with higher limits or greater capacity than our own resources.
Desired Outcomes: Customers will address the immediate crisis and can maintain basic capacity.
